Assistance available for upgrading school buses

The Queensland Government provides funding to eligible school bus operators to assist with the purchase of new buses or buses that are less than five years old. The objective of the scheme is to help accelerate the introduction of rollover-compliant buses into the Queensland school bus fleet.

How much:

40% of the purchase cost (including stamp duty) of the Upgraded School Bus, or $120,000, whichever is the lesser. A new bus with over 30 seats will attract a deferred second payment calculated at 10% of the amount used for the original subsidy calculation.

To accelerate the introduction of rollover compliant buses into the Queensland school bus fleet.

Who can apply (eligibility):

All school bus operators who have a qualifying school bus to be replaced and who are contracted to Queensland Transport to supply a service that principally carries distance-eligible students assisted under the School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS).
